Tony Davis-Coyle left the RAF in the year 2000 with a desire to turn his computing hobby into something more.
Whilst the initial desire was to be more systems oriented, jobs in this sector were rare due to over-population of the workforce prior to the Y2K bug. But an introduction to a Tetra Business Partner, turned into a job offer on a support desk.
Tetra 2000, Chameleon, and Tetra CS3, all character-based systems, based on Unix and other platforms became the world he worked in.
A particular project, assigned to him by his manager, was to develop a migration strategy from Tetra 2000 to Sage Line 100, another character-based system, because Tetra 2000 was now end-of-life. This is what lead him to understand the ‘nuts-and-bolts’ of Line 100, how the data is structured, how we could then populate that data from Tetra 2000.
Almost 25 years later, and that is what he still enjoys; understanding the intricate workings of the software solution to be able to better develop solutions for his clients.
Now, with the experience under his belt, he spends hours developing Excel, and Power BI-based reporting and dashboards, Power Automate automations, and Power Apps both integrated and not, with Sage 200.
Having worked with Sage Business Partners for 13 years, the step was taken to form his own company DC 200 Solutions. With a clear focus on customer satisfaction, he has seen success with hundreds of businesses, consulting, training, and developing a holistic solution for their business.
Robert Hardy has been working in the Sage ‘world’ since 1989.
Having started working life as a software developer for a subsidiary of Nat West, became a partner in a firm selling Financial systems : Multisoft, Tetraplan, Pegagus and Sky Software. Most of these business were acquired by Sage and became a Sage Sovereign Partner in 1989. Which later became know as Sage Line 100.
Become Founder and Managing Director of a successful Sage Business Partner, from 2004 to 2021 at the time the business was sold.
Now focusing on providing consultancy, training, software development and support services to clients using Sage 200.
Specialise in streamlining business process consultancy and seamless system integrations using todays technology tools.
